It's the law
Anyone working on natural gas appliances in the UK must be on the Gas Safe Register. It replaced CORGI in 2009. Work done by an unregistered fitter can invalidate your insurance and your boiler warranty — and it isn't safe.
A local, Gas Safe registered gas and heating business based in Wigan. When you ring, you speak to the engineer who'll be doing the work — not a call centre, and not a salesperson on commission.
JJK Gas Services is a Wigan-based gas and heating business working across Ince-in-Makerfield, Pemberton, Orrell, Standish Lower Ground and the surrounding WN postcodes. We fit new boilers, we fix broken ones, and we service them annually to keep them safe and within warranty.
Because we work the same patch every day, we know the housing stock round here — the terraces, the ex-council semis, the newer estates — and the heating systems that were fitted in them. That means fewer surprises once the covers come off, and advice based on what actually lasts in properties like yours.
We're deliberately a small operation. You get the same engineer from quote through to handover, and the same phone number afterwards when you need the annual service booking in.
It's the bit of the job you can't see, so it's worth knowing what to look for — from us or from anyone else you let near your boiler.

Every registered engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card with a photo, a licence number and the specific categories of work they're qualified for. Ask to see it. A genuine engineer will expect you to.
Our registration number is 939000. You can verify it on the Gas Safe Register website before we start, and we'd rather you did. We'll also have the card on us on the day.
Natural gas only. Our registration covers mains natural gas. We don't install, repair or service LPG boilers or LPG appliances.
Six things we commit to on every job, whether it's a full installation or a half-hour repair.
You get a price in writing before anything is booked in. No day rates that creep, no "while we were in there" extras appearing on the invoice.
You get a time, not a vague window with a shrug. If something genuinely delays us, you get a phone call rather than silence.
If a repair is the better value option, we'll say so — even though a new boiler is the bigger job for us. If it's beyond economic repair, we'll tell you that too.
Dust sheets down, boots off or covered, old parts and packaging taken away with us. You shouldn't be able to tell we were there apart from the new boiler.
Building Regulations notified, warranty registered in your name, service records and certificates handed over. It matters the day you sell the house.
Same engineer, same number. Ring us for the annual service, or if something doesn't seem right after we've been.
If you're just outside these areas, ring anyway — we'll tell you straight away whether we can get to you rather than wasting your time.
Whether it's a new boiler, a breakdown or an annual service, ring or email and we'll give you a straight answer.
